College Access

Grant Priority Area

EBSCO is dedicated to ensuring that unmet financial needs do not prevent Alabama college students from reaching their full potential. By providing scholarships to cover small but critical gaps in tuition, students continue their education and achieve their goals.

We prioritize funding to organizations and initiatives that are:

  • Providing financial assistance to Alabama college students, focusing on historically marginalized and underserved populations.
  • Intervening when unmet financial need prevents Alabama college students from achieving their dreams.
  • Ensuring high school students have the necessary resources and skills throughout the college application and financial aid process so that they are well-prepared for their next steps in higher education.

EBSCO Home Stretch Scholarships

Through the EBSCO Home Stretch Scholarship Program, EBSCO helps close small but crucial tuition gaps, enabling students to continue their education and reach their goals.

In order to qualify for the Scholarship, students must have met all of the following requirements:

  • Established tuition residency status in Alabama;
  • Maintained an overall unweighted GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale;
  • Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate in a degree-seeking program;
  • Completed FASFA for the current academic year;
  • Qualified for federal Pell Grant;
  • Exhausted grant-based financial aid options;
  • Demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid; and
  • Prevented from continuing coursework toward degree completion due to unmet tuition and fees.
